XP service pack 1/1a/2

I have a great little programme that sets up a network, wired or wirless, and it cost me nowt (for 30 days anyway). Problem is that it runs on XP with SP1 or above on it. I've tried running SP1 but it's telling me I have a 'non-genuine' copy of XP Have I got to go to the expense of buying a new copy of XP (as I obviously didn't know this was the case officer!) or is there a way of getting SP1 on there?

you need to install windows using a different Serial Number, then it will allow you to install service pack 1 or 2.

There is a way to change the serial number without formatting and reinstalling, but it's a bit complecated and i can't remember where to find it.

oh and btw why are you bothing with network applications when windows has it's own network setup wizard that works perfectly well.

It shows everything on one network map and configures everything without going through the network wizard. However, I have printed the entire Home Networking help sheet from Microsoft, it's quiet a few pages!!!!

So I get the impression that XP has a Setup Wizard then? Just to satisfy everyone I'll give it a bash but it won't look as pretty as my new programme!
