Cant you drop legacy engines in with a fitting kit?

Does any one know anything about the vw transporter, was thinking of getting one, but is there any tuning that can be done to make a bit more pokey....am thinking about the p reg (ish) 1.9tdi

Yep..
i got a 2.4TDi
88bhp, but tbh drive good, 90 on the Mway up hill and 105 downhill.

Tbh i wouldnt get a 1.9 it will be poo slow and will bug the **** outa ya.
id go for an Ex-AA van
there 102bhp, have tow bar and been well looked after.

If your looking for a van my Girfriends dad is selling a P Reg LDV van for about £650.00 in good nick to about 80k on the clock iirc.
Engine is nothing special power wise but its been well looked after.

it was a new one aswell. good van buy one.
oh yea you can normally get a choice of three engines in the vans ranging from 100bhp - 160bhp.

We borrowed a K reg transporter van to get to my house in the floods, water up to the windscreen and it still carried on! Amazing!
