Cambelt has snapped on the coupe
Thats why it wouldnt start and at the moment i cant afford to get it fixed so im gonna buy a cheap runaround hopefully a metro GTI or something so i can save to fix it. Its sods law that it broke so close to xmas all my funds are depleted.
I was only doing 10mph in low revs so hopefully not to much damage has been done.
Its so annoying.

mine snaped ages ago on my GT at around 20 mph and only bent one valve, however yors is 16v so your probably looking at a minimum of 2.
Your right tho, these things happen at such s hitty times!! mine snapped the day before id set aside to change it.
Youll have to take the engine out, wont you?
That's some bad luck there. DId you buy it knowing it had/hadn't been done, what was the mileage?

Not many around either,and to get a t+t one,around £500-£600.
anything really and it wont be as much on fuel and insurance as the coupe.

ARe they safe engines though? A friend was saying how hsi mates 20valve's belt had gone and thats 20 new valves!!!
