For about a year I couldn't play wmv's. Then they randomly started working for about 3 months untill last week when they stopped again. It just brings up an error message saying the program has to close. Nothing specific.
I have tried downloaded wmv codecs and upgrading my GFX card driver, but really have no idea what this could be now?
Its an fx5200 card if that makes a diff..
I downloaded a codec from mediacodec.com i think it was and they started playing, but did a virus scan after and it come back as a virus, once deleted it stopped.
They tend to be licsensed is the reason you cant play, i seen alot of porn ones do this and then they try make you pay for them...
Have you tried updating to the latest Windows Media Player.
