Bloodyhell, are you sure? did they run it in 5th gear or something, usually they do it in 4th and im sure 154 isnt possible in 4th let alone 5th?Originally Posted by tom
I was a bit suprised it was only standard. With the exhaust and filter I would expect it to gain a bit.
Remember with Ts, it was done at EA, the guy said that EA overread quite a bit.
Im not majorly bothered though. The engine is on 55k, with a recent service and has been looked after.
Its different when a modified GT doesnt make what it should, but mine is standard bar the cat back and a K&N panel filter with a dodgy pipe between the filter and the engine.
Deans GT on his run topped out at around 154mph!

During my time attending a few different RRs the 1.1/1.2 8vs always made way over book figures. It wasnt one RR being generous. filter/exhaust liberates loads of hp from them.Originally Posted by tom

RR SHOULD be done in 4th where 1:1 on gear ratio. Not 3rd or 5th.

isnt it 3rd for under 200 bhp and 4th for 200+
Think it can go both ways but its just more innaccurate either way.Originally Posted by Goldie Punto
We all know what acceleration times can be achieved though.
Theres a seb2 0-100 of 17seconds and theres a TnR 170hp 4.1 that does 0-100 in 13s. Clearly something is wrong here.

My Sporting was done in 5th.
I think everyone under-read what they were expecting.
What you need to do is take a gt to both EA and TnR on the same day and see the difference, when set up with the same boost etc.
Punto Gt no more!
I made 160bhp with just over 170lbs. Was at 21psi though, my high boost setting. I'm happy with that. Been embarrasing a lot of bigger engines cars lately. TBH even 130bhp in the GT@1007kgs is good enough for me.
BTW mine was almost off the clock on my speedo at over 149ish but it was only about 144 on the rollers speedo at that time.
