Ideally elbows and downpipes should be fitted to the turbo off the car, this is why I made the downpipe in two parts, Fitting them on the car is a nightmare, I have managed it in the past but you need to customise spanners etc to get at the nuts.
When bolting on the downpipe start by cutting the turbo studs to the right length so the dont hit the pipe before the flanges meet.
While sliding the elbow over the studs fit the two most awkward nuts onto the studs at the same time, Once the parts are together the elbow should still be able to twist a few mm, Test fit to the car and make sure the downpipe flange clears the driveshaft before final tightening.
Tighten this nut first, I am now supplying a 10mm headed flanged stainless nut as it is easier to fit.
Once this one is on it will open up a gap at the top, fit the rest of the nuts and tighten with a spanner, A gasket should not be needed.
Test fit on the car and adjust as needed, some manifolds move the turbo slightly and this makes a big difference to clearence, you might have to rotate the elbow or file out the holes slightly to move the downpipe one way or another.
