Loads and loads of cars have 4wd, lots of everyday ones, they dont have to be jap performance monsters etc.
A whole host of VAG cars from the last 15years, Subarau legaceys and Foresters are cheap as chips and ten a dozen. Problem with Integrales or similar is they're expensive when working and even a shunted one will still cost alot more than a decent GT because the other owners want or will need the parts.
Evo4s go for a couple of grand now... Seen loads of 205-Evos, full engine and transmission installed in a little hatch.
You do need to know what you're doing though, jig the chassis up or even have it on a rig while you do it, rear floor needs to come out, likely need to build a proper transmission tunnel and increase the bulk head etc etc etc
