Problem with Integrales or similar is they're expensive when working and even a shunted one will still cost alot more than a decent GT because the other owners want or will need the parts.

Evo4s go for a couple of grand now... Seen loads of 205-Evos, full engine and transmission installed in a little hatch.

You do need to know what you're doing though, jig the chassis up or even have it on a rig while you do it, rear floor needs to come out, likely need to build a proper transmission tunnel and increase the bulk head etc etc etc
what do they do about the gearbox?

Put it this way, you cant use the GT engine if you want to go 4WD I dont think, not unless there is some Alfa or Lancia that is 4WD using the SOHC platform.

You'd either need a belhousing adapter or like I said, use the full system from a donor car.

only chiming in on this thread now so sorry if im "re-posting" but have you thought about using rear subframe engine and box form an x1/9? could be done within a moderate price range compared to the likes of delta running gear engine etc.. depending on how tidy you want it of course!!!

I am really interested in this too. I would use a 16vt engine for it, and I heard someone saying that alfa 155 q4 parts would do the job?
