Lol that was the old stock of Rotas, I'm sure they will be fine for road use you haters
Gtr's are a copy of nismo wheels, can't remember the exact model
Clutch time again today and what ballache its turning out to be, so couldnt dis-enguage the release bearing so had to undo all the pressure plate blots through the inspection hole which as you can imagine is smaller than Jimmy Savilles favourite type of opening
Got there eventually and managed to drop the box out, so onto the flywheel bolts which are virutally welded to the fooking engine, they arent moving with out an air gun so yet again another hold up ffs.
Took the fork out of the box and replaced the release bearing so thats ready to go back on once the flywheel is removed ect...
The fly wheel has some serious hot spots on it which would explain the hideous pedal i was getting and judder on pull off, the Evo 9 clutch and larger flywheel should rectify this issue and last a little longer lol
Make sure you use a 12 sided socket on flywheel bolts mate
Glad you got the gear box off mate!!! Matt how long you owned the evo?? As I'm thinking of getting one?? Anything I should look for??
Cheers mate, owned it since 2001
Oh blimey well yes there is absolutely loads to look out for but buy a good one and you will never look back!
Rust - make sure its been undersealed propperly
AYC - make sure its in working order
regular services ie every 4.5k
Clutch - make sure its in good health as you can see the fun im currently going through
Rumblings from front suspension areas - could be the diff bolts sheared in casing
Everything on these cars are expensive, the fuel bills alone are enough to make you vomit
having said all that keep on top of it and you will have the best car you are likely to drive IMO ofcourse.....
Not many examples as well looked after as yours tho Matt. Anyway, what happened to wanting rid?
