Evening All,
I'm going to tackle my Dad's Transit.
It's white and has a lot of tar spots all over it, which have caked on over the years. Now I don't want to go mental with a cheap tar spot remover cause I don't want to screw up the paint work (however it is off white now and I plan on polishing it)
I plan on giving it a really good clean and detail, but i'd like to address the tar issue firstly.
It has never been polished either since 2003, just sponge cleaned every now and again.
Petrol will take it straight off, wd40 will also remove it
Tardis from Autosmart is your best option.

I've used one of the 'custom' "Bug and Tar Remover" products to good effect, but they're all rather similar in their chemical composition. It'll depend upon how much you care about the paint finish which one you choose.
Christ! It's a transit , petrol on rag, then wipe off! Job done go for cuppa!

If you really want you can get auto glym intensive tar and glue remover, Iam pretty sure petrol won't remove the paint but who knows I it's been painted before it may???

Dads planning on retiring in 5 years so there's no point. While I have some time free, I thought why not.
That's the best stuff, rub it on and wait while the tar melts.
It can be used on some fabrics too.
