Never heard a 'soundbar', but would be interested to see how they stack up against the Kef 'eggs' I'm currently using.
Its not a stock item apparently so they only get them in after a customer order. Waiting for my mate to get back to me about a price.

A sound bar is often a Left, Centre and Right speaker in one. They've become common as TVs have become thinner and sound quality hasn't been able to keep up. So you have a sound bar either hanging below (not very common) or just sat below the TV and its pretty much 2.1 although you don't usually require an amp as any DVD or Blu Ray take care of that with in built drivers etc.
KEF eggs look good and sound brill but I wouldn't have them personally, I would have the Q-acoustics Q7000 setup.
LG are releasing full 3D sound systems this year with their new range of Nano LED TVs, tailor setup systems and they're meant to sound incredible, going to LG in August to try it all out.
Ben, if you want something really good but discrete look at the POLKaudio Surround Bar, the 3000 kit is only £200-300. Its an LCR with another pair in the ends. My biggest accoutn at work at dealers in POLK if you fancy it, I may get one myself and get rid of the Q2020.
I've been out looking at sound bars... The chap in comet showed me the Bose companion 3, awesome bit of kit.
BUT... It's such a shame it doesn't have a remote, only some silly twisty knob with a 1.5m cable.
Also, it plugs into the tvs headphone jack on the side of my tv. So to change the volume you have to either get up and walk to the tv, or go through the tvs oem remote (I only have the sky one out) through the tv settings
Boo, fantastic sound but not very functional.
Have any other components or equipment?
Pardon?
DVD player, Blu Ray player, Amp??
I have a panasonic led tv,Panasonic blu ray and sky hd.
Your Blu Ray will be an amp too, you hook up your sound bar to that. I know that with Viera link you can make it so the blu ray comes on with the TV, the BOSE will be active so will switch on with the amp (blu ray)
So you just end up using the telly or blu ray remote.
