    bought a new car yesterday

After owning gtt's for the last 5+ years decided to get something a bit newer but not to common either so after looking around a while sold both the gt and hgt's and the subaru, went on the look out for a vauxhall astra (G) sri-turbo (only 500 made) as did'nt want a gsi as too many around, the one I bought is a 2003 red with 330bhp (acclaimed) I say that because the dyno's are fairly old so I will say assumed until I have it on rollers to confirm output although it feels quick.

Anyone ever driven/owned one? what were your thoughts on it?. My only fault I could say was the fact it has'nt got awd otherwise I think its a nice smooth drive.

only have the following pics but will add some more soon.

Could be fun, never knew there was an SRI-Turbo?

Wouldnt say GSI's are common, but have always been a secret fan of the Astra G GSi!

Almost identical, just ran an earlier map and had comsetic differences. Made in 2002 and as OP specified 500 were made

Most of the differances are cosmetic.

SRiT has the prodrive bodykit: Front bumper, rear bumper extensions and tailgate spoiler. Standard SRi interior.

GSi - has unique fornt and rear bumpers (where as the SRiT kit was available as a style pack option on the later SRi's). Same rear spoiler as the SRiT. Different Recaro seats trimmed in half leather, grey centre console, switchable traction control. It also has tinted front and rear lights

Wheel wise the SRiT has the same 5-spoke alloys as the coupe turbo. GSi has unique snowflake alloys.

Fuel wise they will both be the same. Insurance wise its not something anyone can really answer as it caries person to person.

I just mean the gsi is more common than the sri-t as you said most think is is just an NA, standard wise the gsi has slightly more hp otherwise mozovdarlo is pretty much spot on.

Insurance wise I personally find it is good (£297 PA, FC) but then i'm not the youngest member

First need to work out exactly whats been done to it between the paperwork and physically engine wise but yes won't be leaving it as is exterior wise I have today fitted some smoked gsi/sri lights which I only paid £60 for brand new I also fitted a nicer grill to it I also have some other little bits to do like plasmas and some wind deflectors for it to go on tomorrow.
