nahh watercooling it is a silly idea, its only a games console u can pick up a new console now for just over £150 if it did die and couldnt be repaired thats what i would do.

n yea the fans are to be mounted into the case at some point and im gonna get the upgradefans off of xecuters and a few other bit's
ive considerd water cooling but i dont use it enough to justify the cost

happened to mine a little while ago - mine was so early it didnt come with any heat pads at all!
so all i did was open it up, cut some metal to the exact size of the chips and put them on the chips with thermal paste - now the chips in question make contact with the metal case of the xbox so they're a hell of a lot cooler... and ive had no problems since

nice one! i might offer my services on psc and stuff for pc and console repairs
only takes about half hour to do a rrod fix, pcs are generally quite easy just push a few buttons lol.
chuck it in the bin and get a ps3 lol.
ive got a ps3 too and tbh i dont use it and they suffer from a similar thing to the rrod
Microsoft have a duty to fix all rings of death no matter how old the unit is!!! I've had 3 units and not had to pay once.
If Microsoft stop fixing them for free then they have to do a full recall.
