you can see the thread? surely that aint right?
ok, so my gear box blew on my sporting..
got myself a 75 box,
took out box of today, clutch was shagged so bought a LUK one,
put it on and done it up, the studs were in the holes,
put box back in and car together,
get in it and go through the gears.. lovely..
start it.. it grinds goign into gear asif the clutch isnt engaging enough..
so bleed the clutch, try again same..
looked under bonnet while a mate pumps the clutch,
and undone the cap where you can see the fly wheel.
and.. the pressure plate.. is pushing away from the flywheel? :S
obviosly losing the clutch force in that movement!
clutch IS lined up, IS the right way, torqued opposites and blead OK.
took the box out again...
check there tight. yep.
took the plate off again, moved it round to the next lugs and tried again,
i noticed... with just the pressure plate and no friction plate.. it is flush..
but with the friction plate in it doesnt go flush.
obviously there is 3 studs..
does it matter which way it goes on the studs? all the bolt holes lined up?
all the old bolts were ruined, so i got some new ones from local bolt shop thingy? could it be that? faulty clutch?
please help. thankyou.

Either the new bolts are too long and are bottoming out. Or you haven't tightened them up fully, that plate should be flush againt the flywheel.
You've not put the clutch in back to front? They're not the same thickness on both sides.
bolts are same lengh, could they be streching? :S
plate is in right way, it says gear box side?
im just gonna have a play and try get it flush today.
It should be obvious without annotations which way the plate goes in anyway.
Could be the wrong clutch, its not uncommon for parts to be accidently wrong. Id check the serial numbers, the part in the box might not of what was meant to be in there.
