    punto project on a budget

    Hiya

    New to the scene.
    Have a 98 60s that i bought for a run-a-bout, but love it now.
Am looking to do "something" to bring it to life as the engine and box are sweet as, but the bodywork looks as though someone has played bongo's on it with a rubber mallet!

have been looking for some pics of a punto rally or race car from the era (97/98) but am struggling to do so.

Am thinking about stripping out and popping in a roll cage and a couple of buckets and harnesses. If I was to do that, do I need and SVA test or could it go through a normal MOT test?

either racer or General Lee effect are the two on my mind at the moment.

Also, if anyone has any links to pics of race/rally from the late 90's so I can get an idea of colour schemes/wheels/lights etc etc.

    any ideas greatfully received

Roll Cage = Life saver.... so worth it no matter the CC of the engine

but I would only do it if you intent of going on the track and using as a toy

    Hi guys

Cheer for the advice, may want to put the car on the track eventually, hence the thought of the cage.

    cheers
