did you put the piston in the correct way?
I posted a while back about my sr's problems, symptoms were oil coming out from exhaust and air filter and no power whatsoever and it wouldnt even start up.
I have just finished fixing this, the piston has been replaced along with rings and all gaskets, refilled oil and rebuilt it back up.
I have now found a hole in my exhaust but this is the least of my worries.
I took it out for a local ride in the sun this afternoon and after 1/2mile it broke down on me. It was really sluggish and had no umph so couldnt even go uphill.
Any ideas?
did you put the piston in the correct way?
i have had it running, i rode about half a mile on it so i'm guessing so.
i have adjusted the tick over on the knob but could it be some blockage in the carburetor or the throttle cable not being correctly adjusted?
should get a gilera runner or aprillia rs
Sounds like a piston ring has either broken or its in the wrong way, there should be a notch on some pistons that lets the ring sit snug.
after faffing around for long enough, i took it to the garage and they told me it wasnt worth repairing and that the engine was running stiff/seized, latest is that it may 'touch wood' be the timing chain tension.
