Had a few mishaps lately, nothing too bad but a few mini dramas lol.


You may remember my thread about my oil pressure going AWOL on hard right bends, and me reckoning it was a loose baffle. Well it wasnt, so i needed a spare oil pump/pickup which i retrieved from the Xploits old broken engine frome a year ago.

Back then said that piston3s ring lands had fallen off, again... and they had.




SO back on the Mint, i got the sump off... notice anything missing?



yep the oil pickup arm and strainer had broken clean off :S Never seen it before! was a little gobsmacked to say the least.



there it is !



cleaned a spare oil pump up inside and out and refitted it with a new gasket and replacement GT1 sump.



back on and sorted, pressures back to normal and what no.



next day cleaned the GT up with Teebag and Tim nice but Dim, spanking!

Then later that night, pulled in for some petty, some Tesco99 as was too far from the nearest source of V-power, heard a noise and said to Titch "dont worry, if nothings fell off then it isnt broken..."

Shut the car off, fill up, go to start and CLUNK




Alternator pulley nut, the pulley and belt had come off ! Totally random, timing belt was sitting pretty still so Titch razzed me home and it was sorted in 10minutes and is fine still.

Sorted some leak on the intake pipe and now its back to full health, must of been giving away 20hp until i sorted that!
