Split/detached vacuum pipe, probably. Therefore no gauge action, too.
Just swapped my civic EJ9 for a punto Gt mk1
Has a turbo problem tho. had a re-conditioned turbo fitted. but wont boost atall. the turbo gauge doesnt move. idle is fluctuating and if u put ur foot down it sounds like hissing of air coming from behind the glovebox...
very confused if anyone can help that would be great
cheers!
nice site too

how much will it be at a garage to fix? Is there a chance anyone could fix it on here?
i have a friend registered ( craig with a Blue gt3 ) and he said you guys are quality with help. thanks for telling me too ^^
Cheers, il become a member tomorow if i can
The vac. pipe supply for the gauge is T-ed off another supply and then exits the engine bay low down, via the passenger footwell and then passes up and through, behind the dash, to the instrument cluster. Take the cluster out (two hex-headed screws) and check the pipe is attached and not split there. It'll be a bit of a fiddle but, leave the electrical connections in place for this. Follow the hissing sound. Replacement T-pieces and vac. pipe can be found at Halfrauds etc. A garage job could be expensive as you'll be paying for qualified time, which isn't necessary for this.
I am in / around Guildford. I might be able to have a look.
if u cud have a look that wud be great as i dont have a clue what im doing and im not mechanically minded really. cheers il pm u my number
a big boost leak could also be the issue, when my intercooler had a hole it idled like crap and drove awfully, no boost. check your silicone pipes to and from the intercooler

mum rung up a local mechanic. explained i said i cna hear hissing of air behind glove box. and the mechanic said that wont be a turbo related problem... well wtf is it then lol. i wouldnt know how to check the vac.pipe if my life depended on it lol. if anyone can look at the car and possibly fix her il pay you
cheers guys. just want it fixed now!
Also got some new tinted windows off craig :P they got puntosports stickers on
and the reason mum rang and not myself was because im at college and dont have that much free time before half 5 and thats when they shut.
Deffo sounds like a split vac pipe as Tim said.
That is a culprit area of the hoses getting brittle and perishing as well. The GT engine relies on a complete loop of vac hoses to idle and boost effeciently, one fcuked piece of pipe can cause all this.
Count yourself lucky you can hear the hissing as well makes it easier to trace.
