My house mate has the clio dci and swears by it. Silly money tax, insurance and petrol money. Looks cool too IMO.
Hi, i am looking for a second car to use for daily driving which will cost me next to nothing to run.
Preferably needs the following but exceptions can be made:
Over 60mpg combined.
£35 a year road tax.
Insurance group 1 - 4.
So far i have been looking at Corsa 1.3CDTI, Clio 1.5DCI, Fiesta 1.4 TDCI.
Do people have any or suggestions or comments?
I have been looking at a Clio today, 05 plate with 40k on the clock, FSH, immaculate condition. It will come with full MOT and 12 months warrenty on mechanical and electrical faults. I can get it for £4k........
Should i go for the clio or......?
Thanks.
P.s this is all in aid of saving money for a gt

Agreed, £35 a year tax, group 3 insurance and 65mpg combined ......only around triple what i get in the vectra!
This move should save me over £100 a month on fuel alone!
It is a silver 3 door....only way it could be better is if it was black.
apparently that clio dci aint half quick for the engine that it is, id defionetely say thats your best choice
This one is not the turbo so is not quick
Gutting as the turbo diesel gets similar mpg and i think same tax group and same insurance.....
Online i just found an 06 Grande punt0 1.3 multijet.......for £4995....in the same place. didnt see that there.....otherwise i think this may be a prefered choice.
Shall have to havee a look.
Well having read this i know understand they are all turbo'd

Albeit some being lower power. Clio is looking a good choice
Sams (housemate) is quick enough. It aint ground breaking but good town car and sound on motorways :-)
is the clio the older shape? if your spending 4k id rather a newer car if so.
the clio in link came out like 1998, you can get 1998 ones for like £600.
what im saying is id rather a car which came out recently to the year you buy.
ie 05 clio but came out 1998 or 06 punto which came out 06.
you may see no logic in the above but i do lol.
60 MPG, a 1998 clio will not have 60mpg combined!
the 1998 clio is the same shape as the 05 plate is it not, im talking looks.
what im saying is you cant tell the difference on looks from a 1998 £500 clio to a 2004 £4000 clio.
where as a 06 grande punto cannot be any older than a 2006, so it can only be a 2006 £4000 punto to a £8000 2009 punto.
some people will see no logic in what im saying but i certainly do.
