I'd say about £300 if its in good nick? although that may be a bit too much without an operating system
depends who it sold too, wouldn't bother me as i would just shove tinyXP on, but a computer newbie would have to budget the price of the OS
Hi guys and gals
Im after a favour from anyone with more PC knowledge than me!
Iv had my PC about 18months, hardly use it and was thinking of selling up as i use my laptop 90% of the time. Trouble is i have no idea what its worth! so can anyone help me out with a valuation? Pwease!!
Here's the spec i'v copied from the paperwork i've got on it.
AMD Athlon 4800+ 64 X2 Dual-Core processor
2GB DDR2 ram
256MB nvidia nforce 6100 IGP PCI Express
320GB Hard Drive Serial ATA SATA with nvidia raid and drive support
7.1 Surround sound outputs (not the actual speakers)
18X Dual Layer multiformat DVD writer with Lightscribe - laser etched labels
Expansion Slots = PCI Express + PCI Slots + AMR slot
Expansion Bays = 3x 5.25 Bays
Front Ports = 2x USB2.0
Rear Ports = 4x USB2.0
Audio surround out and Audio in
2x PS2
1x VGA
1x Parallel
1x RJ45
Midi ATX case in Black/Silver
The connections for the keyboard/mouse don't seem to work, but its never bothered me as i use wireless usb one's. I also have a 19" Hannspree Newyork monitor that could possibly go with it.
It will be formatted with no operating system.
So then, any of you lot know what its worth? What to expect on ebay possibly? I would sell it in parts if that would be a better option? Think i bought it for £400ish new iirc
As you can probably tell i dont really have a clue so any input from you lot would be much appreciated!!

£300 is too much IMO
At pcworld, for around that kind of money now gets you (base unit only) intel core2 quad, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd with vista home premium. The pc is worthless nowadays, your best off upgrading it
Yeah there is no money is building PCs unless you a building a really high spec'd custom jobby.
Your one isn't that highly spec'd and prebuilt PCs are so cheap now.
I'd say nearer £150-200

Dig out a thread from 2005, like ive been doing, and post it in there, as it'll be worth more
I can lend you this if you need it:
haha, 88miles per hour yeah? think i'l borrow that then!
I didn't think it'd be worth too much tbh, its just the way it goes with computers isn't it.
Thanks for your comments anywho, Puntoboy is your valuation with or without the monitor?
I may just chuck it on the bay without the monitor and see what i get! i'd be tempted to put a £100 start or reserve on it tho as i'd rather keep it if it didn't go for that!
Thanks for your advice on this!! Its making me do the inevitable i think lol
I'd have it for 100
With the monitor I'd say £200.
