i gave an oil leak, i think its the rocker cover gasket.. how much will a new gasket be and how are they changed? i am broke at minute so i was thinking of shoving in a pack of stop leak tempererraly? dont get paid for weeksand this leak is bad, i cleaned it down, run the car, and this was it 15 mins later!

it is! to sort that leak involves removing the cam carrier which involes timing belt removal. aint a straight forward job, and alot more than four bolts!Originally Posted by jamiequin

phil g is right mate. thats the cam carrier on the sporting, it houses the cams and hydraulic followers. so timing belt will need to come off, its is bolted on with 8 bolts which have got RIBE heads.
Make sure you get the gasket from fiat. the ones from motorfactors are sometimes made out of cardboard and will leak again. fiat ones are metal.
If you have to ask this question mate then don't attempt it.
Give it to a garage to do, if you are skint for now you'll have to keep topping it up with oil until you get it fixed, there is no temporary way to stop that.
