    Windows 7

Has anyone else tried it yet?

Im running it at the moment on dual boot, and i have got to say, it is awesome, even as a beta version.

If we remember that Vista was super 'memory and performance' hungry, this runs faster than my WinXP build, and im not even doing it on a high spec PC (P4 3.2ghz, 1.25gb ram, ATI x550 pci express graphics)

It takes about 15 - 20 mins to install, and nearly every driver was a doddle to get which makes a change. Only thing i havent fathomed out is my tv tuner (but i never use it anyway)

If anyone is interested, it is available on the microsoft website as a free beta install, with a genuine key given too, with no expiry date on it (yet)

Be aware, it is only free to the first 2.5 million beta testers! So get in quick, Its well worth a look

Might try it out, ive skipped the vista generation but might give this one a whirl seems promising. How long does the beta last for? There nothing worse than being all set up and got all your programs installed then 6 months down the line the timer expires

Yeah, Its essentially an upgraded Vista, but needs to be called something different in order to avoid the fiasco caused by windows 98 second edition. Vista is flawed, Windows 7 cures all that
