hi and welcome, what is wrong with your punto then?
Hey everyone, I'm Drew me and my girlfriend recently bought a punto with 4days left on the mot expecting it to sail through but we were wrong and stupid haha!
Making us the proud owners of a mk3 astra getting scrapped and this punto that will take alot to make mot worthy!
Site has been a great help already thanks!

well theres a page and a half of faults, but basicly most of them are small things like headlights needing adjusted, indicator bulb discoloured etc. Worst part is rust, there its through the sills to the carpet all the way down the passenger side, the brakes pull to the left because they are out of balance, brake pipes corroded and the radius arm broke when I was taking it home from the test! fun times ahead.
brake pipes can be done free by FIAT as that was a call back. give them a call and they will tell you if yours has been done or not.

I did hear about the call back didn't know they were still doing it, thanks mate lets hope it hasn't been done.
i got a letter from them again the other day saying this was the last time they will be sending out recall letters, so get in there quick before they stop doing it altogether.
most of that stuff is easy to sort, just the rust sounds pretty bad.
good luck.
yeah thanks mate, got quoted £700 for the welding, so getting father dear to take down the welder and we can get to work. Is there a guide to removing seats and carpets etc in a way they can actually be put back in?
Oh by the way the car was bought at auction (hence not checked over well enough) and I only got one blue key there was no master, should I change the ecu?
carpet / interior is easy to strip out, just bolts and clips, it'll go back in
interior is very easy to remove. 4 bolts each for the front seats and i think you need the hex keys to remove some of the back seats bolts.
£700 is a bit steep for welding, must be quite bad, better to do it yourself if you can, thats what i did too.
i wouldnt worry about changing the ecu, not even sure if your model is supposed to have a red key? might be worth trying to get a spare key cut and coded somewhere just in case though.
