Tuffnells charge me £27.08 then a £10.00 private address surcharge
the box for the deck cost me £11.32
we protect the edges and suface with bubble wrap appox £3.00
we then tape the bubble wrap and the box secure £1.36
we then add fragile tape £0.60
docket envelope £0.03
labour to pack 20 minute £8.33

Total £61.72 PLUS VAT = £70.98

£57.50 isnt that bad a deal is it

STILL missing what i'm getting at, you're going off on a rant when its not needed.

I'm not suggesting that, i just thought thought that the courier charge shouldn't be added to the total cost for VAT to be added too.

i.e

Deck - £450 + VAT - £517.50

plus postage at £50.

Total £567.50

Rather than

Deck - £450

Deliv - £50

Total inc VAT £575.

I was not suggesting anything or telling you how it should be done or asking how VAT worked, or questioning your prices, just wanted the knowledge on how it worked in the nitty gritty of it and thought that may be an option, you are very condescending in the way you reply, i was just trying to gain a bit of knowledge, and please see that ALL of my replys are not me trying to tell you that you are wrong, just trying to make you see my way of thinking?

VAT is chargeable on everything, except basic foods, kid clothes and few other things - none of which i sell

so yes, VAT is on everything in the EU

post office dont charge vat, however this wont fit through the slot
couriers do charge vat though
