for some reason all the wipers and water squirters (yes thats a technical term lol) on my mk1 have stopped working, its like the whole of the right stalk has just broken.
After the fuse which i believe is to the right of the steering wheel, what should i be checking?

dunno to be honest, never had a problem with them before them suddenly started foing this the other day! where are they earthed?
one of the motors might be buggered, does it blow when you turn on a certain wiper?
could it be a relay? im not 100% if there is one for those bits though.
i had this problem a few years ago a cable had degraded and was causing it to short out it was a right pain in the arse
yeah check the looms dude, take out the fuse box see if any of the wires are burnt or degraded you might be able to get away with 'hotwiring' the loom back up to get it working again. It happened on my escort ended up having to change the fuse box itself.
does sound like ya problem could be at the stalk end to be honest as you say the washer dont work either. had it been wipers only i would have suggested the usual motor, fuses, etc. youll get a new stalk from a punto in a tat yard for fook all. if its still the same afterwards you can ebay it, nothing to lose.
when you twist the stalk for the rear wiper, does that work OK? what about its wash?
You ever fix this mate, got the same problem atm?
