    yep...... they are feckin quick

came across one tonight on my way back from stirling, tried to have a little blast but i had my bird in the car moaning, so it wasn't a full on race but i get the feeling i'd have been mullered, he shot off like a rocket once i'd had my play

very impressed, i think it was dark green or black with aftermarket wheels

Wouldn't bother with the 16vt as they're more prone to trouble being that little bit older. Suspension setup on the 20vt's are better as standard. Plus the engine note of the 5cyl is sexy!

What ive been reading about the 20vt is that the manifold goes on them almost every year! Heat build up in the 5th cylinder is also a problem, ok, thats usually due to under/over fuelling but still! The only problems in the 16vt is the cambelt, but u can easily get these changed by a specialist! Suspension wise, id change springs/dampers/antirollbars anyway, so this doesnt bother me!

i thought the manifolds where a design issue, they were replaced by a uprated part...

This is true, there are 3 variations on the manifold each one is a slight improvement on the previous but they're not perfect. The problem occurs when a support bracket corrodes causing the weight of the turbo to crack branch 5 when it's hot. You've just got to ensure there's no corrosion down there and everythings tight.. My manifold is 4 years old and is still fine, however it's one of the later designs.
The 16vt is a great car, but the 20vt is the better choice because of their age.
