Newbie with 2007 16V PG Sporting

I had a 2000 Sporting from new that I imported from Ireland which was tragically written off by a truck in April.

This had been a great servant with the sole exception that the power steering went when it was 6 years old!

I paid £7k for the car in 2000 and was very pleased to buy a 2007 Grande Sporting for less than this with only 4000 miles on the clock. It's a much more adult car but not as sporty. However, I am sure something can be done to remedy this - chipping etc.
