Newbie advice

OK well will be honest i naff all about puntos , owned a 1.1 as my first car, im mainly a vauxhall man, but i am on the hunt for another punto gt to be precise, but dont know much about them, are they very reliable?? or break down alot?? and are parts cheap, will be used as a run around to get to work and back about 25 miles a day

Crickey, iv never known anyone have a GT as a run around!!! Usually the other way round!

I have never had much trouble with either of mine, touch wood!!!! If you look after it it mite not be to unreliable for you!

well we are getting a zafira for when the we all go out and for the mrs to use when i am at work so wanted a nice small fast car, any advice on what to look out for when buying one

usual turbo stuff, smoke on/off boost, any unusual noises, Gearbox selecting troubles (from very cold start). They can be a bit tappy when warm but shouldnt be excessive

never owned a turbo so dont really know about them to be honest

try a seach mate, probably be best in the turbocharged section (mk1 area), should get loads of answers

Just the same as any other hot hatch, if you get a decent one to start with and treat it right and service it regularly you will have minimal problems.
But if you get a cheap one and drive it like you stole it, don't look after it, you could have endless problems and it will end up costing you alot...
