Talking Castle Coombe - Simply Awesome!

Where do i Begin? The GT was awesome, really suprised me how well it handles compared to other hot hatches, many were stripped out, track prepared monsters too.

Weather was tricky though, track was drying out lovely when i began, but started raining mid session, and almost caught me out around tower corner, backend came straight round, jus managed to keep it with full opposite lock and a bit of power, well impressed with myself

weather made it very tricky, very twitchy and sliding around almost every corner, even under braking i had to give it opposite lock.

Boiled my brake fluid pretty quickly though so had to deal with very spongy brakes which slowed me a bit, and my nearly new brake pads are almost non exsistant now, and my front wheels are now a very dark shade of grey from brake dust.

I hit 120-125MPH on pit straight, which isnt much, but given the conditions i thought it was pretty good. I did see red though with a purple/blue Seat Ibiza, twice i was behind it and twice it span oyut right in front of me after blocking me from overtaking it the second time i really struggled to avoid him as he span around and back on to the track right in front of me.

My mate in his Ibiza Cupra though was not so good, 4-5 times he span out, all from driver error, he was stabbing at the throttle, and the steering and was generally dangerous, in the end i was shouting instruction to him, when to brake, turn and power etc. didnt enjoy my passenger ride at all.

saw two other GT's, both yellow and both on the track, apart from a few mates, didnt recognise anyone else though, both GT's were pretty good aswell to be fair, condition were very tricky, and so many people got caught out and ended up on the grass in the wrong direction, were had crashes and had to stop sessions.

Plenty of cars on display, some nice examples of wide range of cars, but i spent most of the day watching the track, the most impressive was the drift session, apart from 1 who was clearly new to drifting, fair play to them, it was incredible to watch, and the white Mk2 escort was brilliant.

Right that'll do for now, sorry for the long post, but im still smiling from my track time and it was 4 hours ago! be good to hear from other people who went, i think i have a few vids but quality is cr@p as taken on my phone, will try and post em up later.

kinda cheated on the sound test, i peaked the revs @4500rpm, and when the guy looked away, dropped em to 4000 lol, and he didnt notice, didnt seem too bothered as there were a lot of cars that were louder than mine

    still had 97DB though!
