    That explains it then. I was expecting it to be either that, or a marketing ploy. With the Leona being the flagship model, it wouldn't be good practice for SEAT to sell the Ibiza cheaper, and it be quicker!

    Vauxhall are in a similar position with the VXR's... they decided to detune the Corsa slightly so it wasn't as quick as the Ashtray!

    yea same engine with a different turbo and map.

    Yeah a standard leon Cupra R runs 225bhp remapped it'll run around 265bhp whereas a standard Ibiza Cupra runs 156bhp, remapped (Stage 1) around 200bhp. I've added some extras tho to increase peak boost thats why i'm hitting 25psi.

    I sincerely hope though, that these remaps on the Leon's aren't using 25psi to get 270hp? That's a horrendous power figure for the amount of boost. My missus' dad has a Saffy Cossie running 300hp @ 20psi and that's from 1989, again 4 valves less and only 200cc more!

    Its not all about boost to make hp is it. You should know that.

    These engines are only fitted with small turbos relative to displacement, they have little lag but run a bit of boost to make power. Peak boost just gives torque at spool.

    If they were running large turbos, then sure '600hp at 25psi' lol would be about right, but no one would buy them boosting at 5k+

    to me, it doesnt feel like a turbo'd car to drive, just very torque'y! 1500 revs in 5th and will still pull v.nicely.

    My A3 is probably 0.9bar or so, boost from 1800-5000 flat.

    Big turbo same boost would be more hp but less drivable as a daily car.

    Old men work in bar give it to me in PSI, the cupra runs 6psi standard.
