New Section

Heres an idea i have been toying with for a while

This would be an addition/upgrade (but a new section, maybe under the header "Vehicle History") to the cars for sale section, where members post a detailled description of not only their cars, but more general stuff like:

1) Mileage (dated)
2) Service history
3) Faults (found and fixed etc)
4) Mods
5) Pics
6) Value
7) Date bought, previous owner history etc
8) General condition etc

This way, when someone wishes to sell their car, you can link straight through to a pre written description of your car etc

People could edit their posts as and when things break / get fixed, or get a new MOT or tax, general stuff like updating a profile i suppose

You will easily be able to tell a poorly looked after car from a well looked after one

As a lot of you will have seen, some peoples cars for sale threads are a lot better than others, and some are really awful

With this idea, you could get a generic view of all of peoples cars, and a clearer view as to whether to go and see, buy etc ie; a well written thread will generate a lot more interest than a poorly written one

A section like this could also include a poll for members favourite cars

.


And i know we have the project section, but this could be different.


My car, for example isnt a project, but i have as much to say about it (through standard stuff etc) as some of the more heavily documented projects on here, like DtT's and Dr_Evils


I think this would be a great section

Sounds like there will be a lot of work maintaining the information.

If a car is bought from on most people tend to do a search on topic by the user any way.
