snuff movies for seriously twisted sick minded people, who should probably be locked up if they like that stuff.
At about 3/4 of the way through, i could physically take no more, it was so gruesome. Films like the saw quintilogy, are more about the anticipation of whats going to happen, whereas the Hostel, is just pure gore, way too much for me!!

    Still an 8/10 though

    i wrote this elsewhere...

    Simply put - Brilliant!

All the acting in this film is second to non, the cast is almost entirely British bar Tom Cruise and a handful of Germans, like Black Hawk Down in that respct then. If anything though you dont think about the performances until after as the story and the momentum of the film just overwhelme, and to think its based on real factual events only adds to it. Unfortunately if you have an interest in WWII and have heard the Stauffenberg/July 20 attempt you know how the film transpires. But i was still on the edge of my seat for the duration. Oddly the Adolf Hitler character was genuinely nerve racking/scary despite only a few small appearances...

On the flipside though, its already a classic in tht sense, because of the sore subject surrounding WWII still, they couldnt of 'made up' something like this, just awsome! Captivating in the least, the scenary, music just everything is spot on, i stood up at the end dying to play Medal of Honour...

A must see! Tom Cruise was excellent, Bill Nighy was particularly good also!

I prefer the alternative ending where he kills himself in the womb (choking on unbiblical cord lol) as it ties in more with the story and the references early in the film about he should have never been born.
