So we got 3runs in, and then

MAJOR GEARBOX PROBLEM!!!

For Pete! While changign into 3rd it wouldnt go, so he rolled to the end and couldnt select anything. The two blokes from max power we had been talking to told me he'd stopped just off the strip so i went to find him.




The selector wasnt playing ball... so we left it for abit and went for a wonder.

need a roof when it rains!

So then after playing about and some 'gentle' persuission Evil's gearbox decided to work, so we got another 3runs in...


in the que was this... was using a punto 1.2 8valve engine-turbo'd said it was running about 16psi



que was getting smaller and smaller so thought we'd get lots of times in, was to late to go to the rolling road now too.



then...

MAJOR CATASTROPHIC GEARBOX PROBLEM!!!

For me... on my 6th run, went for second second grabbed and BANG
Stopped about 150-200ft up the strip, engine had cut out but turned on fine and revved the same, went to select gear, nothing! no crunching or dodgy noises, just nothing.

So the guys came and towed me up the strip and made sure id not left any debris or fluids, which i hadnt done much of cus didnt want to ruin the end of everyones day.

One guy did find this though under the car where id stopped.


Think its the diff myself, thats some kind of bearing carrier, jsut glad it wasnt a rod emigrating cus it was an OH MIGHTY bang lol.

infact looking at this one again it looks like its from the diff.



and so the fun was almost over.



till the Dudes towed me to the entrance of Santa Pod he heeee



where an hour later Lee from Easy move picked me up and took me home £150notes down

Ah well, was a good day and at least it went bang having a laugh and been given death. When i got out the car i couldnt believe the surface, everyone knows its glued but its seriously sticky!

Rang Coog and hes bringing me a spare gearbox on thursday evening as ill be in Harrogate till wednesday night and should have it on for the weekend

Evil used Nos on that run and look at it fly off in third, his terminal was 103mph!

I had some dregs in the bottom of the bottle but I think there was no liquid nitrous left Well there can't of been as I didn't go any faster and it didn't feel any different
