or is this a difference because of the wms calipers
It's a bracket thickness thing, the deeper the disc the thinner the bracket has to be. From the Mk1 lug to the back of the Coupe 305 disc is 8.35mm, so the bracket would have to be 7.35mm or less, too thin in aluminium. Add a 3mm spacer under the disc and the bracket can be 10.35mm thick which is ok! (it gets to be thicker at both threaded sections as there is more room at those points).

What caliper is gonna be used a 4 pot one or a 6 pot one?
The same WMS T20 4 pot as in the current kits.

Why don't you use the bracket on the other side of the lug? This will allow you to use the 305 standard discs and no spacers whatsoever.

That's how I have it on my AP's and I can't see any problem with it.

Maybe in the region of £450-475+vat for the basic kit (calipers, brackets and inserts, discs, bolts)...

Because that's not what Fiat had in mind as the reference face. So if one year they made changes (like make the lugs thicker and used longer bolts) it can catch you out, we only ever use the side of the lug the mfr intended to fit their caliper to.

Well if anyone here is able to lend (or better, sell me cheap) a Mk1 GT rear arm+caliper+hose+cable+hub+disc I'm happy to get on with it, but the eBay lot gave me the runaround last time I tried to get one there!

Ta - just have to play it as safe as possible as you never know what car MFRs get up to. Have a look at a TVR Tasmin as an extreme example!!!
