New Punto Owner

I've just bought my first Punto - an 02 plate 1.9D. Not sure if it really belongs in this sport forum, but hope you may be able to help with a couple of questions anyway?

1. It only came with one key, a blue one. I understand this is chipped and have been told that a duplicate will cost me £300! Are there any cheaper options?!!

2. When I start the car (from cold), quite often the digital clock and trip reset to zero. It's as if there is a momentary power loss. The total mileage does not change of course...!
Is it possible that the battery could be the cause, or is it more likely that I have either a loose connection somewhere or a bad earth?
