The fish swam by, ignored the bait and went straight to the fisherman.

Minimaniac's 2.0 is faster than a new shape M3, but I know which one I'd rather have sat on my driveway. Charge the M3 and there's instantly no comparison.
    How about price?

Ok, well how about comparing cars from the same market sector..

i.e a GT is only a warm hatch, a CTR is a hot hatch - which is one of the many reasons why they cost more. The only fair way to compare cars, is standard vs standard, from the same market section, and new vs new.

    £12,500 for a new GT back in 1994 - warm hatch - 60 in 7.9 and 100 in 22.5?
    £16,500 for a new (basic) CTR in 2001 - hot hatch - 62 in 6.4 and 100 in 16.5

A natural competitor to a GT is the Saxo VTS, which has almost identical figures, and is from the same era.
If you have any car care related questions, ask me in the Cleaning/Detailing section.
