Malc got lucky on that run. Even at the time he was the first to admit that he was being caught and passed very quickly.. you can see that at the end anyway.

im not sure thats true.. not on paper they are not..
maybe a modified punto is faster then type r..

Of course Punto's are quicker, Gonzo. At the end of the day, a Type-R is only a Honda.. hardly a baby Ferrari is it?
