Hi all,

Looking at getting a 16v sporting once I can get rid of my vectra. Always wanted a GT but running costs are an issue at the moment. The GT was the first turbo I drive about 8 years ago always wanted one since but hey mortgage and bills come first.

Any advice on what to look for I want to get one in the next 2 months. I dont mind R,S or T reg just want lowish miles 70k or below. What you all paying for tax? and how much is a full tank and how far does it go?

I dont think there are any specific points to check on the sportings, nothing notorious. They're quite stable little cars. Just do the normal checks as with any used car, head gasket, rattles, blah blah. Check the front wheel arches for any rust as that's the first place it tends to appear. Make sure all the electrics work. It's great if they have the red key but not a dealbreaker. When it comes time for you to sell up, yellow cars are always in high demand so bear that in mind. If I think of anything else I'll add it.
