Like Cat said do a little search for what you want and its mosts prob on here
If you look around the site under the turbocharged section and go through the pages you should come across many threads that should help you maintain your gt.
If you don't want your turbo to die on you then always warm the car up and down i.e drive off boost for a few miles up untill your oil gauge sits on 2bar and when you've arrived at your destination let the car idle for about a minute (depending on how hard you've been driving) never just turn it straight off. Others have different methods such as driving off boost for the last few miles of their journeys etc. If your impatient buy a turbo timer
Do not cut corners on parts, it will bite you in the arse ten fold
so do turbo timers just keep the engine running after you have got out the car and taken the key out the ignition?
how easy or these sort of things to install
best way to look after the turbo is to not increase the boost, cars runnign standard boost tend to have turbos on 100k miles, when people up the boost and start to tune it for more power/boost etc the turbos life is decreased.
so what would u suggest if i am planning on upping the boost?
buy a bigger turbo?
my aim is to get 200bhp
im no expert but i seriously doubt the standard turbo is capable of such things
ha
Do a search and you will find out which turbos and parts are needed.
No the Standard turbo can punt out maybe 175 at a big push but it'll die soon after (ask wayne lol)
For 200hp your looking at 500-1200 for a stage2 turbo
100-300 fopr a front mount intercooler
150 for a seb4 chip (ina group buy)
50-120 for a fuel pump
50-120 for a fuel pressure regulator
100-400 for a stainless steel catback exhaust
30-50 for a decat (dr evil)
And alreayd have a good bottom end, prices are rough from cheapest to upper most and are for new parts roughly. Thats the minimum also
