420bhp with stock engine internals. Not bad. I do hate Honda's, though.

You can get 450 out of them on stock internals. That particular kit is a Rotrex supercharger, as supplied by TTS

It's possible for 600hp+ and still retain the 2.0 capacity - although that is for turbocharged applications. The above supercharger kit, I believe, is capable of 500hp+

In a recent magazine, Paul Jones' (TDi North - Warrington) Turbocharged K24 Type-R had a bit of a shootout against an F40. It won.

That kinda s**t upsets me though.. not because mine only has 204, but because I really f**king love Ferrari's!!

    Taken from rev limit

    Mk5 Golf R32 = 1:30.4
    Megane R26 = 1:31.3
    Astra VXR = 1.32.1
    Mazda 3 MPS = 1:32.1
    Ford Focus RS = 1:32.2
    Megane 225 Cup = 1:32.5
    Golf Edition 30 = 1:32.6
    EP3 Civic Type R = 1:32.8
    Old Leon Cupra R = 1:32.9
    Mk4 Golf R32 = 1:33.3
    New Leon Cupra = 1:33.5
    Focus ST = 1:33.5
    Clio Cup 182 = 1:33.8
    Megane 225 (non Cup)= 1:34.0
    Mini Cooper S Works = 1:34.2
    FN2 Civic Type R = 1:34.4
    Mk5 Golf Gti = 1:35.1

These are the times of the "hot hatches" around top gears track.... whats difference between fn2 and ep3 ctr?

The FN2 is the new one, which officially hit the roads today. It's got the same engine, with a few extra toys, like fly-by-wire throttle and a lower VTEC point. But a downside, is the rear suspension is now a torsion beam - so the car no longer handles as well as the EP3, and because of its excess baggage (140kg's) it's slower all-round.

As you can see by the results though, finishing 8th from 17 is not bad. The EP3 is still in the top half of the table, despite being 5 years old now. 6 of the 7 cars infront of it, are actually new. Unfortunately, the FN2 is a car for the masses, rather than the driving enthusiast. With a £20k price tag aswell, I cannot see many people opting for it, over the selection of other cars for a similar price.

I would have one of the meganes out of that list, great looking cars and go well. Only problem is they will probably fall apart pretty quickly!
