There is nothing silly about it. He lost it on a track. Big deal. He knew it was a possiblilty that the car would have got damaged, otherwise he wouldn't have been on the track. There are more idiots that do this on the streets.

Basicaly, he made two big mistakes.
First one, he took the foot off the pedal when it began drifting sideways. That's when you need to keep he foot on the floor, most common mistake from novice drivers on a track. Second big mistake was the fact that he over steered too much. Too bad, that scooby looks like it needs a more skilled owner...
