    when on the customize screen. do you check the boxes to make them vista or check them to make them stay as they are?

    for example 'classic start menu' and 'boot screen' etc.

    Had this a while back, be careful it can **** ya registry up or something just as important, Ste you might wanna try out windowblinds? www.wincustomize.com theres a shlt loada stuff on there to customize ya xp, its really good, i got Vista now so i dont bother with it any more, but i had it when i used xp.

    got it installed now, seems to be running ok.

    quite funky actually.

    can you change the colour of the toolbar and start menu etc. not keen on the black.

    No i dont think so, thats my point, on windowblinds theres an absolute shlt load of different skins for it, lol not to try and ram it down ya neck but i found it a really good program.

    My PC is set up in system properties for best performance.

    snap... something that's running in the background that's changing the graphical appearance isn't gonna help to speed up your PC. call me old/boring

    i just aquired a copy of XP media centre 2005 and i like the look of that, similar to XP, but just that little bit different. copys a lil dodgy though, so cant see me installing it.
