    Removing ABS

    Has anyone removed there ABS in there Punto GT?

    Also what are the blue pipes that come in from the arch up into the engine bay can I remove it?

    I've never had a GT with ABS. You'll need to run new pipes from the master cylinder to the brakes (well at least to the first join).

    The blue pipes are for the charcoal canister. It can be removed but there's no real benefit.

    Okay thank you ill have a look for some new pipes to run from the master cylinder to the callipers

    So I can remove the canister from the arch and the pipe into the engine bay, what's it for?

    Yup, you can remove the charcoal canister.

    I believe you usually need to keep the loom plugged in to avoid an engine management light, but I'm not sure this applies to you, due to not having a gt ecu?

    this subject comes up loads but on a road car why remove
    abs?weight saving?
    sounds a right faff

    In the OP's case I would guess room? Bit packed in a 16vt bay.

    Yeah the reason for it is for a little more room in the bay and to save a little weight for track and strip runs
    It all ads up lol

    i dropped my spare wheel to shave a few kgs off but found the
    car was noticeably more skittish at the back so i put it back in
