    Nintendo DS/DS lite/PSP?

Anyone got any of the above? I'm thinking of getting some form of portable gaming device for the many times I turn up incredibly early to apointments and sit in my car reading utter trash.

Picz/vidz and oppppinyunz please. I'm leaning towards the DS from a games point of view, but as shallow as it is, I'm not keen on the design of the thing and the PSP does look like you could enjoy having sexual intercourse with it.

I've just got a PSP, but want a DS lite for fun. Exclude the DS from your list, as the DS Lite is the latest slim version. The normal DS's seems too bulky.
As mentioned, DS's games and graphics are mostly for kids. You won't get the aggressiveness of the PSP games. Good thing about the DS is it can be hacked like the PSP to play backed up games. But with the PSP games, they average 700mb, so you can only get a couple on 2gb memory card, at a time. With the DS, the games I have seen are less than 15mb. So you could get literally hundreds on a memory card.

Can't really speak for the others but we go the bairn a DS Lite for xmas and it's great. Mario Kart is bar none the most addictive game ever! Nintendo games tend to have just a little more depth and playability than PS games (IMO) and the design of the DS is very similar to an iPod so it's clean and neat too. To be honest I never thought it would be up to much but I was wrong. Plus games are cheaper for the DS a swell and the battery lasts a hell of a lot longer too.

    Thanks for the replies chaps.

It was actually the Lite I had in mind, but as I understand it, it shares the same hardware as the DS bar a slightly better screen.

Not bothered in the slightest about MP3s, movies, somewhere to store your porn, etc... just something to play games on.

What's the PSP's battery life like?

Good. Book time is 3 hours I think. Never played that solid before, but I had mine turned on standby for over a week, and it still has plenty left. I play backup games of the mem stick, and that uses less battery because its not spinning the UMD disc.

Battery life depends on what game you play same need more disc reading than others.

But an average of 3-4 hours i have out of my psp, you can buy an apgrade battery that will last longer.

I got GTA : Liberty Stories and its exactly the same as the ps2 version stunning!

Hmm, swaying towards the PSP now... I must admit, the possibilty of playing backup copies (ahem, of the games I've bought previously, of course) makes it all the more tempting...
