    Hello

My computer monitor keeps saying " check video cable " i have changed the monitor and now the video card and still saying the same thing. Ive not changed anything on the computer prior to this problem/

Could the motherboard be fooked or is there another reason it would be saying this?

Please ask questions if i hav not give enough info

If you had a monitor before, with higher resolution settings, then they won't work on an older monitor that doesn't support that resolution. I don't know how you would get around it without changing the settings, but you'd obviously need a monitor that can take those settings to be able to see it, to change it.

Try starting the computer in safe mode so it runs a poo resolution. Then adjust the display settings accordingly to the new monitor

Is your monitor connected with PC via digital or analog cable?

    i have no idea

at first the original monitor just stopped working (wouldnt turn on) so i replaced the monitor with a flat screen and it worked for about 3 weeks and now it says check video cable. I also tried changing the montior again and it says monitor is fine check video cable.

i have removed and put back in the graphics card so many times lol

i cant start it in safe mode as i cant see anything on teh screen.

You should try to replace your cable IMO. It shouldn't cost much for a standard cable, cost a bit for digital one.

If you've got an LCD tv, you could plug your PC in and change the settings.

check the pins on both ends of the cable, sounds like you are using the standard 15 pin VGA cable. sometimes the pins can get bent, you can bend them back into place with tweezers or something or else just get another cable, they are cheap enough.
