my pc is fujitsu and as is claires laptop.
no problems really but there are better out there. looking on the dell site now.
I'm not a fan of Fujitsu. Has a few of their PCs and Laptops in previous jobs and they were rubbish.
What about Dell? Some good deals on their website.

Fujitsu Siemens are the worst laptops I've ever used, badly designed and had no end of problems with a load of them at work.Originally Posted by Withnail
I'd only buy Sony.
Dell's laptops are not bad at all, but their customer service is shocking from the experience I've had with them.Originally Posted by Puntoboy

I have a Dell Latitude and it is great, no probs and it was a recon one.
In my opinion dont touch fujitsu products, every fujitsu pc or laptop ive known has broken!
check this site out http://www.acernotebooks.co.uk
I bought an Acer Aspire from then the other day for £499, 100gb HDD, 1GB RAM, celeron 1.6Ghz etc..........
also tesco have been selling some nice cheap acers that are almost the same, but they have 60gb HDD
or even better get a Zepto, u might not have heard of them but there pretty good! http://uk.zepto.com/
mainly because of the graphics card nVidia Geforce Go 7600 256MB graphics, but know your not into playing games but its good for the money!!

During that time it has been used hard every day mon-fri, either constantly in the office or being thrown about and dragged around the country while i'm on the road. At weekends its used for 4-5 hour periods of DJ work. It has not once crashed, moaned about anything and the case is still iPod-tight and shiny.
At work we resell fujitsu desktops and out of every 100 we sell, we can expect perhaps 2 of them to have some kind of warranty issue. I've been massively impressed with them and would still reccomend without a moment's hesitation.
Sony, on the other hand, sold their souls to the 'make it look cool first' devil ages ago and it shows in all of their over priced products. Avoid.
Dell. I wont even bother talking about as far as laptops are concerened. Awful. And truly shite customer service (something you will at some point need if you're buying a laptop).
From the looks of it, they're horrifically over priced, too.Originally Posted by mattj_uk

I've dealt with Dell customer service before and always found them quite easy to deal with.
I had a Dell laptop and never had any problems with it.

ive had fujitsu siemens, same as withnail for 2 years but would not recommend them as the build is not as good quality, the keys, scroll key etc. Also my first laptop got replaced after about 4 week after a line appeared on my screen. They did change it quick no problem though. Last year my HDD buggered up, but i think that was something to do with dodgy downloads!
Have a look at www.acernotebooks.co.uk . The basic models arent great (size, weight, battery life etc) but the other models are great. The best thing about acer is they offer a 3 year warranty including accidental damage for £99 which is about £200 cheaper than any other warranty I could find in shops or online.
