something else I've been getting more and more into is simply slowed down versions of existing songs, an easy way to make music just that little bit more obscenly low, and a lot of it sounds better than you'd think

yeah have a look at some of the bass mekanik stuff, to be honest that's pretty much real mans bass, it's VISCIOUS through a system, and usually peaks below 35Hz
