    Welsh National Motor Show...

Having already PM'd a mod and asked permission to post and received no reply, I'm hoping this is ok...

    To all...
The First Welsh National Motor Show is to be held at Chepstow racecourse on Saturday 26th August.
We have 15,500 sq m of space within the ground for car clubs with the intention of not having to restrict the amount of cars per club, so can accomodate as many cars, clubs and stands as can come, the Car Club Cars will be given car passes for entry to the Car Club Area within the racecourse but not admission tickets to the show (see below) also the cars will obviously be in a secure area within the racecourse...
We're hoping to attract a very broad spectrum of cars from the many various clubs and the more the merrier...
The show is still partly being put together but so far we have...
Opening the Show WBO & IBF Super Widdleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe.
Live Action Arena - Demo's from 'Steer From The Rear & 'Opposite Lock'.
    D1 Cars.
DJ & MC live stage all day with entertainment etc..
Hankook Rally & Drift Car Experience. (with passenger rides)
    4x4 Experience. (with passenger rides)
    Helicopter rides.
    Super Car Lawn.
    Audio Village.
    Family Fun Arena.
    Meguiars Show & Shine.
All the usual Trade Stands etc...
All 'Car Club Cars' will get free entry into the Car Club Area within Racecourse but not admittance to the show itself.
'Car Club' drivers only can now have admittance to the show for just £6.
The Meguiars Show and Shine is £10 to enter on the day, but if purchased with an admission ticket the total cost will only be £15.
This only applies if bought in advance.
The Meguiars Show and Shine will be split into 3 Classes...
    Best European Car at Show.
    Best Japanese Car at Show.
    Best American Car at Show.
Each class will win a trophy and prize.
One of the three class winners will win Best at Show (hoping to get Joe Calzaghe to judge the final 3) and will win another trophy and £250.
The trophy for the 'Best at Show' will be a 5ft Nascar style trophy (more info/pics as soon as I can) this will have the drivers name engraved on it and will be presented on the day to the winner and will become an annual event.
On the grounds it may prove very hard for the winner to take home a 5 ft trophy, it has been decided the winner will take home a smaller replica/trophy to keep.
Joe Clifford, the Editor of Banzai Magazine is going to judge best Japanese Car at Show, and is also offering a years subscription to Banzai Magazine as an added prize...
Also have got conformation from Hankook they will sponsor the 'Best Wheels at Show' and will give the winner a new set of Hankook Tyres...

All the 'Car Club' cars will be GREEN TRAFFIC and will have exclusive use of 'St Arvans Gate' from 07:00 to 09:30, this will mean you won't have to queue with the public traffic and will ease any congestion.
'St Arvans Gate' will be shut at 09:30 as instructed by the Traffic Police.
All the relevant forms for 'Car Clubs' will be available from the website which i'm assured will be operational within 48hrs...
The prices below will apply to all passengers -
Admission is £14 on the day or £12 in advance (16yrs and over)
Junior concession is £10 on the day or £8 in advance (10yrs -15yrs)
2+2 Family Ticket concession is £40 on the day or £32 in advance
    Under 9's FREE.

If anyone has any questions please ask...

    Toby.

    Hey all,
obviously don't want to turn this thread into a billboard, so hope this is ok...

The 'Fire Force' top fuel car has had to go due to insurance liability issues, also 'Opposite Lock' to be replaced with 'Steer From The Rear', but various other things being added so please keep an eye on www.walesmotorshow.com to see any changes...

    Cheers, Toby.

    Website now updated...

    www.walesmotorshow.com

'Fuel Girls', 'Sound Off' and 'Trophies & Prizes' links now added and all other links now working among other things.

Have also added a forum (bottom of page) for Wales Motor Show enquiries only, registration is instant, feel free to post any questions you may have, all questions posted will be answered as soon as possible.

I will also post lists of all 'Car Club' entries that have been received in the 'Car Club' forum, if you have sent off your entries and a week or so later you're not on the list of 'Car Club' entries, or if you have any questions please say so, I'd like to avoid any 'last minute' issues.

    Cheers,

    Toby.

    To all...

Just a quick reminder that I must have all entries to me by 10th Aug at the very latest, although obviously would be easier for me if it's not all 'last minute' so you have about 5 weeks before you must have sent off your entries for your 'Car Club' passes and any advance tickets you want...

I have noticed a degree of confusion regarding 'Car Clubs' and the related ticket prices, so let me take this opportunity clear this up quickly...

Entry to the 'Car Club Area' is free but only with a 'Car Club' pass, all 'Car Club' cars will get exclusive access to the 'Car Club Area' through St Arvan's Gate from from 07:00 to 09:30, this will mean you won't have to queue with the public traffic and will ease any congestion.
'St Arvans Gate' must, and will be shut at 09:30 as instructed by the Traffic Police.

All 'Car Club' traffic will be GREEN TRAFFIC (see map below).

Have done a small map, the 'Car Club Area' is shaded in Green.

    (Clicky)

Entry to the 'Car Club Area' is free to all 'Car Club' cars but must have a 'Car Club' pass which must be issued in advance, no cars will be allowed through St Arvan's Gate without a pass and 'Car Club' passes will NOT be issued on the day.

Entry to the rest of the show (through the turnstiles) is -
£6 for drivers of 'Car Club' cars.
£12 for passengers 16 and over
    £8 for passengers 9yrs to 15yrs
    Under 9's are FREE

All these are advance ticket sales only, the £6 'Car Club' drivers tickets will only be issued with a 'Car Club' pass.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day -
    £14 for 16yrs and over.
    £10 for 9yrs to 15yrs.
    Under 9's FREE

It's also worth noting entry to The Meguiars Show & Shine is £10 on the day, but £9 in advance, so for drivers of 'Car Club' cars can have entry to The Meguiars Show & Shine and an admission ticket for £15 (obviously in advance)

If anyone is travelling some distance and think they may struggle to get to Chepstow by 09:30 then the venue has agreed to let those in on Fri evening and they can camp, the camping area is also through St Arvan's Gate but turn left once inside and head for the grassed area.
Anyone wishing to do this please say so on their entry forms.
There is NO charge for camping this year.

    Car Club Entry forms...

    Group Booking Form - http://www.walesmotorshow.com/pdf/carclubentry.pdf
    Single Booking Form - http://www.walesmotorshow.com/pdf/indventry.pdf

Should anyone decide to come after the group booking form is sent off please use the single booking form and i'll add you to your club.

Any questions or anything I can help with please ask...

    Cheers all,

    Toby.
