First Fast Idle Test
Engine Speed 2586rpm
CO Level Max:0.3% Actual:0.7
HC Level Max:200ppm Actual:110ppm
Lambda Min: 0.97 Max:1.03 Actual:1.02
Second Fast Idle Test
Engine Speed 2702rpm
CO Level Actual:0.48%
HC Level Actual:77ppm
Lambda Actual: 1.02
Natural Idle Test
Engine Speed 903rpm
CO Level Max:0.35 Actual:0.06%
Notice how the CO drops substantially on natural idle which, according to Mr S Elliot (head mechanic of the garage doing the testing), is the opposite of how the results normally pan out on emission failures.
I assume 1.02 means the system is running lean?
may have been said because i cant be arsed reading the rest of tge posts(sorry). but mine had the same problem and it has a split in the downpipe. got a new downpipe and problem solved.
Exhaust is hole free from manifold to backbox. I've just been down to Tyrespot where it cost me £3 (given directly to the fitter, none of this VAT malarky) to have the only blow sorted out. It's nice having a car that doesn't chirp and squeak.
MOT has now ran out so I really need ideas quickly...
Take it to a different MOT place, Ive had massively different results from 2 different garages.
Punto Gt no more!
There is another place local that I'll try soon, they only charge £25 too (which is seems strange but it is the next nearest one to my place of abode...).Originally Posted by tom
