Got a PDA and the Tom Tom software. Means I can do other things in addition to having the sat nav bit. You should be able to pick up the whole kit second hand for £200.

ive used Garmin i3 before and for £130.00-140.00 you cant go wrong it has all the camera locations aswell and defines wether there static or not.

And the Navigation is spot on. the only downside is that it runs on batteries they only last circa 2 hours. Im not sure if you can get a main form the ciggy lighter.

the i3 comes with an in-car power adapter.

and the i3 may have a small screen, but ive never had any proplems reading it and it makes it easier to carry around.

i wouldn't touch the tomtoms, except possibly the new go, the 300, 500 and 700 are very unreliable (from my experience)

of all the ones we sell, tomtom are by far and away the most reliable, with the added bonus that if they do go wrong they can often be swapped out for a new one and we can deal with it with tomtom at a later time, a much better way of doing it than navman/medion/blackspot where if there is a problem (extremely likely in the case of navman as their software is terrible) we have to send the customer away to deal with the manufaterer themselves (which makes us look useless and unwilling to help, although we can ring them it means a lot more hassle all round that way) I'd say tomtom over anything tbh. the baby garmins great if you can get used to spending ages inputting postcodes etc with the scrollwheel (no touchscreen is it's biggest drawback) but as said at £130 you can't really go wrong. and it fits in your pocket easily if you need to take it out the car (for security)
