My mate in a Diablo Red 106 GTI raced a black Punto GT down the A41 in Watford towards Bushey the other day......
From what he told me the GTI was more then a match for who ever it was. I'd like to know if he was telling the truth. Was that anyone on here?

More than a match...I think not! although the GTI was well quick and i loved it. Once i was in 3rd its was a one horse race. Although he would kick my arse now seeing as my GT is pushing out 0bhp.
Its not a standard GTI, he's done some good work to it.
well he must be bullshitting then lol. a gti vs a 200bhp GT.
a standard gt would be pretty even with a standard gti, probably a bot ahead, but a seb2 gt pisses and i mean pisses over the gti.
What he failed also to tell you that I was easing off the clutch in 1st as its about to go bang, he was quite obviously dropping it.
Great fella though, one of the nicer people I have dabbled with.
My seb2 GT never had any issues with a GTi after 2nd gear tbh.
Just the twisties and the A41 ain't twisty!
... and I'll add, work or no work, a 200 bhp GT should be elton john'ning him into the middle of next week.
I never had any issues, just by the time he was ending his run in second I was shifting into second due to the clutch issue. Its all gravy, he didnt win one out of the 4 races.Originally Posted by jimma
